Product Management for Education Technology - 1

CETE-TISS
Enrollment in this course is by invitation only

About This Course

Education is a fundamental right of the people and EdTech products must hold themselves accountable to the nobility of the cause and the impact of the promises of education. Product management is essential, for government organisations and corporations alike, to meet their objectives through their products. A product can be anything from a simple textbook to an online learning platform like Diksha and from a virtual classroom for students like Byju’s to an in-person teaching centre like a tuition class. EdTech products must not be looked at with the same lens as other industries like commerce products (such as Amazon and Swiggy), entertainment products (such as Netflix and BookMyShow), social media products (such as Facebook and Instagram) or communication products (such as Whatsapp and iPhones). EdTech products must be different at their core. The product industry of tomorrow is moving towards a model led by Products instead of technology or business. With the rise of EdTech in India and across the world, the role of the product managers is critical in developing products that create an impact in people’s lives. Many ideas and products fail in the market because they do not understand the customer's needs and/or deliver value to the customer. Product management is relatively new in India and many young professionals and even some organisations are unaware of how to lead in product management. However, from surveys (including our own), we know that industry leaders are clamouring to hire great product managers. Through this course, we will create the next generation of product managers who will reshape the landscape of EdTech into one driven by impact, knowledge, and virtue.
