About This Course

This practice-based course will give an in-depth understanding of the 21-century skills framework, the concept of 4Cs and its relevance in school education. Importance of authentic and contextual activities with technology within the curriculum will be explored. The course will also delve into inquiry-based learning activities for students and technology applications that nurture it. WebQuest as an exemplar for inquiry-based learning will be introduced in the course for learners including a practice assignment of planning and designing a WebQuest for students, and completion of this activity will lead to receiving the Digital Badge.

Course Objectives

  • Understand the 21-century skills framework, the concept of 4Cs and its relevance in school education.
  • Importance of technology integrated learning activities for students in a classroom in relation to 4Cs, so that the 21st century skills can be developed and nurtured among school students.
  • Explore inquiry-based learning and technology applications that nurture it like WebQuests for students.

Who can do this course?

Teachers teaching in middle and secondary level students and having access to at least 10 students will undertake this course.

She has worked on developing the Integrated approach for Technology in Education at the Tata Trust, and conceptualizing of the CLIx initiative. Her research interests are in the areas of teacher professional development for technology integration (TPACK), and student use of technology within a constructionist approach.

She has been a part of Integrated approach to Technology in Education (ITE) since 2013 and has been associated with TISS ITE Resource Team since 2016. She has been managing the Certificate in ICT and Education for School Teachers along with providing monitoring and capacity building support for on ground implementation of ITE in government schools as a member of the resource team.

He has been a part of the Integrated approach to Technology in Education (ITE) since 2014 and associated with ITE Resource Team, TISS since 2016. He likes to explore new technologies, ICT applications, and programming software and their implementation in ICT and education. His interest areas also include working with Artificial Intelligence and improvising Learning Management Systems for school education.

She has been part of the Integrated Approach to Technology in education (ITE) since 2014 and associated with the ITE Resource team, TISS since 2020. Her strengths are in working with students and computational thinking activities. She has been instrumental in working with student on WebQuests, planning ITE Camps & ITE Melas. She has also been involved in doing research on various aspects of constructive use of technology by teachers and students.
